Billy Joel depression. Billy Joel has officially blamed three car accidents on depression brought on by the original 9/11 attacks.. Depression is obviously a very serious subject however many are accusing Joel for using that as an excuse for years of heavy boozing.
The piano man entered rehab for the drink in 2005 but since then he has insisted his bad luck in cars is attributed to depression.. Brought on by terror and not a 2 liter a day vodka habit..

I went into a deep, deep depression after 9/11, it just knocked the wind out of me, and I don’t know even now if I’ve recovered from it. It really, really hurt that man could do that to man. I would not say 9/11 really caused Mr. Joel's depression as much as I would say triggered it. I am not an expert on heavy drinking, other than it was nothing more than an attempt to self-medicate. Then again, I am coming from a Peer Support Specialist viewpoint.
