Fallout stemming from a major arrest has gotten country singer Billy Currington fired from NASCAR‘s upcoming motor Speedway race!

Country music star and double-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Josh Turner will perform a pre-race concert before the green flag waves on the 29th annual NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on May 18 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, replacing Billy Currington, who was originally scheduled to perform.
Currington was charged Thursday with making terroristic threats and abuse of an elderly person. He was released from a Georgia jail after posting a $27,700 bond.
Each of the charges is a felony punishable by one to five years in prison.
Charlotte Motor Speedway President Marcus Smith said Friday that double-platinum singer-songwriter Josh Turner will perform the pre-race concert before the May 18 race. Smith cited Currington’s arrest for the change.
