It seems like only yesterday Anna Faris was single and making major motion pictures, well all that’s changed in a big, abrupt way, now the House Bunny actress has a baby in tow and is taking her acting skills to the small screen, AKA, TV.
Faris landed the coveted role in Chuck Lorre’s new multi-camera comedy entitled “Mom” – Anna Faris playing the single mom – freshly out of rehab, trying to raise a child…
Anna Faris has landed the title role in CBS’ Chuck Lorre-produced multi-camera comedy pilot Mom, TVLine has learned.
The actress — whose film credits include The Dictator, The House Bunny and the Scary Movie franchise — will play a newly sober single mom who tries to pull her life together in the Napa Valley.
Lorre co-wrote the Mom script with his Two and a Half Men colleagues Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker.
If Mom gets a green light (and if Two and a Half Men returns for an 11th season, as many expect it will) that would bring to four the number of shows Lorre will have on the air next fall, joining the already renewed The Big Bang Theory and sure thing Mike & Molly.
I think it’s a little early for Anna to be making the transition from “miniskirt the mom jeans” but whatever, the God of TV, Chuck Lorre has spoken.
