The VA hospital in Missouri that is supposed to be focused on treating our country’s veterans may have actually exposed them to HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis sent out a letter to 1,812 vets informing them they could be at risk of contracting one of the potentially deadly diseases because they were treated with improperly cleaned dental instruments.
Apparently between usage, hospital personnel were hand-washing dental tools rather than following procedure and placing the tools in a sanitizing cleaning machine, in an effort to save time.
The medical center has set up a special clinic to assist patients who may have been infected.
