Many True Blood fans are asking “why not an Emmy nod?” HBO’s True Blood has set viewing records, rivaling The Sopranos.

Blood’s season opened with 3.7 million viewers (according to Nielsen Media Research) the most since HBO’s mob romp closed for business. So if gobs of viewers is not the criteria for Emmys, then what is? Almost 4 million people can’t be wrong, or can they?

HBO is not hurting in the least when it comes to Emmy nominations, in fact, HBO got the most with 99, but not a single one for TB.

Some fans are speculating as to why Emmy ignored their favorite show, Pattiblueyes said, “Maybe they [Emmy] don’t like vampires!”
