PRICHARD, AL. (THECOUNT) — Javoris James, of Prichard, AL., has been identified as the man shot and killed in what the Prichard Police Department are calling a homicide.
Javoris “Miguel” James, 31, was named as the man shot dead by suspect, 18-year-old, JaQuarris La’Kendall Nodd, who is currently in police custody in connection with the fatal shooting, according to Prichard Police.
The fatal incident occurred on Saint Stephens Road, in Prichard, early Thursday morning.
A call to 911 first reported the shooting in the 1600 block of Saint Stephens Road at 12:53 a.m., according to information from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office website. Continue reading
FAYETTEVILLE, NC (THECOUNT) — Fayetteville police have identified Isaiah “Denzel” Flowers as the motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash Thursday night.
Flowers, 20, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was operating a motorcycle when he was struck by 71-year-old, Julia Clay, who was later charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Officers responded to reports of a motorcycle rider down at around at 8:50 p.m. Upon arrival, police concluded a Toyota, driven by Clay, was traveling west on Cliffdale Rd at Pritchett Rd Fayetteville, NC., when it came in contact with a motorcycle.
Flowers was struck and thrown from the bike in the collision. Continue reading
Heather Todd has been identified as the person killed following a crash on U.S. 701 North in the Conway area involving a car and a tractor-trailer. Another person suffered critical injuries.
Todd, 18, from Conway, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Tuesday night.
According to tweets from Horry County Fire Rescue, the crash happened before 10:30 p.m. near U.S. 701 and Wise Road. Continue reading
Singer, Alejandro “Jano“ Fuentes, who appeared on the Mexican version of singing competition “The Voice,” has died after being shot on Chicago’s Southwest side.
Fuentes, 45, was shot in the head several times by an unknown assailant who ordered him from his vehicle. Friends who were traveling with the singer said, noting was taken in the execution style murder.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that 45-year-old Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes died on Saturday. Continue reading
Superstar Iraqi-British architect, Zaha Hadid, has died. She was 65.
Reps said, Hadid died early Thursday at a hospital in Miami after suffering a sudden heart attack while being treated for bronchitis. Hadid was hospitalized earlier in the week to be treated for the illness.
The statement said Hadid, “was widely regarded to be the greatest female architect in the world today.” She was born in Baghdad in 1950 and studied at the American University of Beirut before continuing her studies at the Architectural Association in London. “By 1979 she had established her own practice in London – Zaha Hadid Architects – garnering a reputation across the world for her ground-breaking theoretical works including,” the statement said. “Working with office partner Patrik Schumacher, her interest was in the interface between architecture, landscape, and geology; which her practice integrates with the use of innovative technologies often resulting in unexpected and dynamic architectural forms.” h/t theheavy

Frank Sinatra‘s son, Frank Sinatra Jr., has died, his family has announced. He was 72.
Sinatra Jr, who was also a singer, carried on with his famous dad’s legacy with his own music career.

A unidentified federal official revealed that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia appears to have passed away from natural causes. The source added, “so far” foul play does not seem to be a factor in the Justice’s death.
The Presidio County sheriff, the FBI, and the US Marshall Service are reportedly investigating Scalia’s death.
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead on Saturday on a luxury ranch in West Texas. He was 79. The US Marshals Service in Washington confirmed Scalia’s death, according to the Associated Press. Spokeswoman Donna Sellers said Scalia was found dead Saturday morning when he did not appear for breakfast. The San Antonio Express News, a local Texas news outlet, was the first to report Scalia’s death, quoting US District Judge Fred Biery who said he was one of the first to find out that the justice had died. “It happened on a ranch out near Marfa,” Biery said. “As far as the details, I think it’s pretty vague right now as to how.” h/t vice

You may have heard that Steve Burns of Blue’s Clues was killed in a car accident. Before you shed a tear or order him flowers, be advised, the popular TV star is very much alive.
In November, 2015, a faux news website, “MSMBC News” posted a video and accompanying article reporting Burns, best known as the original host of the long-running children’s television program Blue’s Clues from 1995 to 2002, had been killed in an automobile accident.

Weintraub’s health had been failing as of late, and he passed at his Palm Springs home with family by his side.

Johnny Kemp, the singer of 1980s party anthem “Just Got Paid,” died Thursday. He was 55.
Kemp died of unknown causes while vacationing in Jamaica. He was reportedly found unresponsive on a beach in Montego Bay.
