MANATEE COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Jerome Miller has been identified as the victim shot and killed inside an SUV early Saturday in Bradenton, Florida.

Miller, 30, was killed early Saturday morning after police responded to “Rooms To Go” furniture store in Bradenton Saturday on reports of a vehicle crash, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

First responder arrived at the the scene of a vehicle crash at the business, located at, 1400 44th Ave W Suite A, in Bradenton, FL., around 3:46 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, police found Miller suffering from apparent gunshot injuries while seated in the driver seat of a white SUV. The vehicle had crashed into a pillar near the furniture store entrance.

According to a news release, there were several bullet holes in the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Miller was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot wounds.

As of Saturday afternoon, Rooms To Go was open for business, but the pillar that Miller’s vehicle crashed into was visibly damaged and surrounded by police tape, reports Bradenton.

Detectives are investigating what led to the shooting.
