MICHIGAN CITY, IN. (THECOUNT) — The three people found dead of gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide in a rural Michigan City are 71-year-old Barbara Evans, 73-year-old Walter Evans and 48-year-old Tammy Evans.

Police have identified three family members as the dead found in an apparent murder-suicide inside a Michigan City home located in the 6800 block of Meer Road Monday afternoon.

Police responded to a call from a distraught relative around 1:57 p.m., according to a release from the Michigan City Police Department.

Upon arrival, police located three bodies, a handgun, bullet casings and a handwritten note.

Based on the crime scene and the evidence, it was determined Tammy Evans shot Walter and Barbara Evans, according to wndu.
