MICHIGAN CITY, IN. (THECOUNT) — The three people found dead of gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide in a rural Michigan City are 71-year-old Barbara Evans, 73-year-old Walter Evans and 48-year-old Tammy Evans.
Police have identified three family members as the dead found in an apparent murder-suicide inside a Michigan City home located in the 6800 block of Meer Road Monday afternoon.

Police responded to a call from a distraught relative around 1:57 p.m., according to a release from the Michigan City Police Department.
Upon arrival, police located three bodies, a handgun, bullet casings and a handwritten note.
Based on the crime scene and the evidence, it was determined Tammy Evans shot Walter and Barbara Evans, according to wndu.
The two victims reportedly “remained in the residence for several days, as did Tammy.” Eventually, Tammy Evans died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police reportedly found the gun and note in a different area of the home from where they found Barbara and Walter Evans. source
