MACON, GA. (THECOUNT) — Quinton Tylor Benyard has been ID’d as the victim found fatally shot outside Grant’s Lounge, on Poplar Street, in Macon, GA, early Friday morning.

Benyard, 28, was discovered lying in the roadway near Third Street around 1 a.m. Friday suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators say they are searching for a gold or tan in colored GMC Yukon or Tahoe that was seen in the area when the fatal incident occurred.

MEDIA RELEASE Bibb Sheriff’s Office Investigating On Fatal Shooting Incident:

A Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy discovered a man lying in next to the road at the corner of Popular and Third Street at around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning. The deputy noticed that the male had been shot.

The male victim was immediately transported to the Navicent by ambulance. According to the hospital staff, he passed away at around 3:30 a.m. The male was identified as 28-year-old Quinton Tylor Benyard of Eastman. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.

Through the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Benyard was involved in an altercation at a local night club, prior to the incident. Investigators are continuing to speak with possible witnesses to determine what happened during this incident.

Investigators are looking for a gold or tan in colored GMC Yukon or Tahoe that was seen in the area when the incident occurred.
