WINSTON-SALEM, NC. (THECOUNT) — Renee Dawn Dix, of Winston-Salem, has been identified as the victim in a Winston-Salem crash Saturday night involving a car and a pickup truck.

Dix, 47, was killed while traveling as a passenger in a Mercury vehicle shortly before 8:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Liberty Street near Piedmont Park, when the 28-year-old male driver, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and collided with a Toyota pickup truck head-on.

Five other individuals were injured in the deadly wreck.

Dix was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma consistent with the violent crash.

Three other passengers in the Mercury were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car and the driver of the truck were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not said why the driver of the car, a 28-year-old Winston-Salem man, allegedly crossed into the truck’s path. There is no word on any possible charges. source
