MECKLENBURG COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Sandra E. Miller, of Richmond, Virginia, has been identified as the victim killed in a two-vehicle crash that involved in a teenage driver, according to Virginia State Police.

Miller, 55, was a passenger in a Honda vehicle traveling along Route 47 near Route 741, in Mecklenburg County, Sunday, at about 10:50 a.m., when the crash occurred.

A 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling north on Virginia 47, when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines. A 2013 Honda CRV containing Miller was traveling south on Virginia 47 when it unsuccessfully swerved to avoid the oncoming pickup truck.

The vehicles collided head-on.

The driver of the Toyota, a 17-year-old Chase City, Va. male, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The teen was wearing a seatbelt and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda, an 89-year-old Richmond, Va. woman, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. source

The crash remained under investigation and charges were pending against the teen, police said.
