PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — UPDATE: The victims in a Friday night Phoenix hit-and-run have been identified as 52 year old, Wanda J. Trujillo and 2 year old, Enoch Trujillo. The suspect and vehicle involved in the tragic crash have not been located.

The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Wanda Trujillo and very seriously injured little Enoch in Phoenix Friday night.

(ORIGINAL STORY:) Police say they are hunting for a dark colored older model SUV after a hit-and-run that killed a woman and left a young child in very critical condition Friday night at the intersection of 16th Street & Broadway Road, Phoenix, AZ.

Witnesses told police the older model SUV was traveling northbound on 16th Street when it struck the woman and 3-year-old child near the intersection of 16th Street and Broadway Road. Police said the woman and child were not in a crosswalk when they were hit. source

The victims have not been identified.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was taken to a local hospital in very critical condition, police said.

The intersection is expected to be closed for the next several hours as officers investigate.
