“We are requesting donations for the medical expenses of Nelmarys Rivera-Alequin, the victim of a wreckless mishandling of a firearm which was accidentally discharged through a wall by a neighbor striking her in the head while sleeping.

Her life currently hangs in the balance as she remains in critical condition. Her husband and 2 children need any support they can get to help cover cost of medical expenses during this difficult time.

UPDATE: Unfortunately my sister-in-law, Nelmarys Rivera-Alequin passed away yesterday (April 23, 2018) after being taken of life support. She was fighting for her life for about week since the incident at Lancaster General Hospital trauma care but the decision was made by my brother Jose “Joey” Arroyo and nephew Zion Arroyo to remove her off life support because this is not the burden my sister in law would’ve wanted on her family. My brother told me they’ve had these kinds of talks before in case an accident were ever to occur.

The emotional and financial burden my brother now faces could be extremely overwhelming so we please kindly ask for your continued support. Every bit of your contributions can make a difference in helping my brother and his 2 kids move forward from this painful and unfortunate loss. RIP Nelmarys, We love you!”
