The Iowa Department of Public Safety released new information Friday saying the death of Paul Scheel is now a Creston homicide investigation.
Scheel, 45, was found dead in the basement of the Eagles Club during a welfare check. The apartment is located at 300 East Montgomery, in Creston, Iowa.

Dispatchers received a call Wednesday evening to do a welfare check at 300 East Montgomery, Eagles Club #1398 in Creston. The apartment is in the basement of Eagles Club #1398. According to DPS officials, officers entered the residence and discovered the body of Paul Allen Scheel.
The Office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on Scheel. Officials said the manner of death has been ruled a homicide and the cause of death is not being released at this time.source
