The family of Karmeshia Pipes, the 26-year-old pregnant woman found shot to death in her Memphis residence, is asking for donations via gofundme.

Pipes was last seen leaving her baby shower on January, 21, and was expected to give birth, “any day,” according to family members.

The fatal incident occurred in the 1900 block of Sparks Street in Memphis.

Family members say they asked a friend to perform a welfare check on Pipes who had not been answering phone or text messages in the 10 days following her January, 21, departure from her own baby shower.

Upon arrival, the friend says they used a key to gain access to Pipe’s dwelling. Pipes was then located lying dead on the floor.

Police and EMS were summoned and Pipes was pronounced dead on the scene. She was at full-term pregnancy, according to family members.

Relatives say police informed them it appeared the young mother-to-be had been deceased for “multiple days.”

Ricky Anderson II, Pipes’ boyfriend and the father of the unborn child, was taken into custody and charged in her murder. Anderson was at the residence when police arrived.

The incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic violence situation, according to MPD. According to the arrest affidavit, Anderson just looked ‘as though he was in shock and wouldn’t answer any questions.’source

Anderson declined to give a statement to police, according to the report. It is unclear if he was living in the residence at the time of Pipes’ murder. Police say they observed “fresh lacerations” on the suspect’s “inner wrist.” The report did not indicate if that was the evidence that Anderson’s to his arrest.

He has since been officially charged with First Degree Murder.

Cierra Thømãs spoke out on Facebook saying she was looking forward to her and Pipes’ children growing up together:
