New Iberia 2016 Flood Victim Somvang Sinsayarath Dies In Monday Vehicle Crash

IBERIA PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Somvang Sinsayarath, of New Iberia, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Monday evening vehicle crash in Iberia Parish.

Sinsayarath, 58, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near New Iberia Monday evening.

According to reports, Sinsayarath was operating a Honda Fit on LA-674 near Blanchard Road in New Iberia, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes Monday evening. The vehicle then came into contact with a Chevy Tahoe.

Sinsayarath was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Tahoe were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
