Watch Ronda Rousey Predict Her Own Knockout

Ronda Rousey appearing on Jimmy Fallon talking about how Holly Holm would knock her out – with a head kick. As we know by now, she was exactly right in her assessment.

Rousey was soundly beaten by Holm, who took home the championship title belt. Watching this now, it’s safe to say that Holm got in her head, and stayed there, in a big way.

UFC Dubious Title: ‘Most Violent Televised Knockout In Sports History’ (video)

I have been a connoisseur of MMA (mixed martial arts) since the old yore of Pride. The television show, Ultimate Fighter, has usually been a hit or miss for me.

Depending on the contestants, to the talent caliber of the fighters, to who the headlining coaches would be. However, if you’re not in tune and watching season 17 you’re missing out! So far, I am hooked! It seems they re-formatted the way they shoot the show, it has the feel of HBO Boxing 24/7.

You get more one-on-one, in-depth, interview with the fighters. They get more personal and you get to know their story and struggles. The most recent episode where Uriah Hall vs. Adam Cello debuted and concluded my jaw dropped and I couldn’t stop screaming, “OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!“.  It was seriously a devastating knock-out and I’ve seen quite a few. As devastating as the knock-out was you just feel so wretched for the opponent on the canvas.

In the immediate aftermath of arguably the most violent televised knockout in combat sports history, Uriah Hall’s overriding emotion was fear. “That’s my favorite technique,” Hall said of the kick. “… It’s a little bit of an unorthodox move. If you have good speed and good whip, you can catch someone, and it’s really deadly. I love to use that technique, and just from being in the ring with him, I’d seen how he would drop his hand a little bit. Source.

The knock-out was so deadly that what normally would ensue jubilation and happiness was hushed and silent. You feel horrible for the guy. But this is what we as viewers want to see, fighters putting it on the line for some gladiator-esque glory. So check it out.

For those who know MMA, I have to ask, does this kick rival the destructive kicks from Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic? Or any other fighters known for their knock-out kicks? Let me know.
