IN Man Nathan Chaney ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Night Fatal Auburn Motorcycle Crash

DEKALB COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Nathan Linn Chaney, of LaOtto, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash Wednesday night in DeKalb County.

Chaney, 29, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Auburn Wednesday night.

According to reports, Chaney was operating a motorcycle in the 5000 block of County Road 23, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Wednesday. The bike then made contact with a substantial tree.

Chaney was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Atlanta Plane Crash Reported Wednesday Seven Springs Apartments Northeast Expressway

DEKALB COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — A plane has reportedly crashed near Seven Springs apartment complex at 100 Ridgebrook Way NE, in DeKalb County Wednesday morning, according to breaking reports.

Fire Capt. Deon Bentley said crews are responding to the scene at the Seven Springs Apartment Homes off of Northeast Expressway, reports WBS.

It is unknown what type of plane was involved in a fiery crash.

The DeKalb County Police Department said they are responding to “possible plane crash near I-85 & Clairmont.”

GA Stephenson HS Senior ID’d After Fatally Shot By 15-Year-Old Fellow Student In Lithonia

DEKALB COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Phildarious Parrish has been identified as the Stephenson High School student shot dead by a fellow student Thursday in Lithonia, Georgia.

Parrish, 18, was shot and killed by a 15-year-old suspect in the 5000 block of Hillvale Road in Lithonia Thursday.

Police have charged a high school freshman with murder after investigators said he pulled the trigger in the fatal shooting.

Detectives said the suspect and the victim had gotten into a fight earlier and the week, reports WSBTV.

Parrish was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Both students attended Stephenson High School, located at, 701 Stephenson Rd, in Stone Mountain.

The shooter has not been identified because of his age.

The school released a statement regarding the shooting on Friday:

“Yesterday, a 12th grade student at Stephenson High School was shot and killed by a 9th grade student, also from Stephenson HS, at the 9th grade student’s home. This follows an altercation that took place yesterday in the bus lane at the school involving approximately 4 to 5 boys. DeKalb County School District Public Safety and DeKalb County Police are investigating this matter. A crisis team will be at the school in the morning to provide support to students and staff.”

The investigation is ongoing.
