Zhuobin Wang ID’d As Suspect In Deadly Thursday Night Auburn Home Invasion

AUBURN, AL. (THECOUNT) — Zhuobin Wang has been identified as the suspect charged with two counts Capital Murder and one count Attempt to Commit Murder in the stabbing death of an adult man during an apparent robbery Thursday night at a couple’s Auburn, Alabama home.

The brutal attack occurred at a home on Monroe Drive near Richland Road & Cotswold Way in Auburn Thursday night. A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured and remains in an area hospital recovering from stab wounds.

Auburn investigators say they believe the stabbing occurred in front of the couple’s children.

Wang remains behind bars at the Lee County Detention Facility on no bond.

Auburn police released the following information:

On October 22, 2020 at about 7:15 p.m. Auburn Police responded to an assault in the 700 block of Monroe Drive. APD Officers, along with personnel from Auburn Fire and EAMC Emergency Medical Services, arrived on the scene and discovered two victims suffering from injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Officers also located a third person in the 700 block of Monroe Drive determined to be the suspect in the assaults. Both victims were taken from the scene by emergency medical personnel. The preliminary investigation indicates that the assault was not a random act. The victims and the suspect were known to one another. IN Man Nathan Chaney ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Night Fatal Auburn Motorcycle Crash

DEKALB COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Nathan Linn Chaney, of LaOtto, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash Wednesday night in DeKalb County.

Chaney, 29, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Auburn Wednesday night.

According to reports, Chaney was operating a motorcycle in the 5000 block of County Road 23, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Wednesday. The bike then made contact with a substantial tree.

Chaney was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Alabama Shock After Son Of Prominent Doctor John McFarland Arrested Murder Of Dad’s Bride To Be Marti White

AUBURN, AL. (THECOUNT) — Ross Jonathan McFarland, the teen son of prominent east Alabama physician, John McFarland, has been charged with murdering his father’s fianceé at the family residence in Auburn on Thursday night.

The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Martha “Marti” Jones White, who was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

Law enforcement sources say, 16-year-old McFarland, and White knew one another because White was engaged to McFarland’s father.

Auburn police arrested the 16-year-old early Friday morning on Murder charges after the Thursday night homicide along Burke Place, in Auburn, Alabama.

“On Oct. 18, 2019, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Auburn Police along with the assistance of members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Tallapoosa County Drug Task Force arrested Ross Jonathan McFarland, 16, of Auburn, on a warrant for Murder,” said Captain Lorenzo Dorsey.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a homicide at the 700 block of Burke Place in Auburn where a female was found dead inside a home where the teen lives.

“At approximately 7 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2019, the Auburn Police Division responded to a residence on Burke Place after receiving a call reporting an unresponsive female. Officers discovered a 66-year-old female, affiliated with the residence, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound,” reports WBTW.

Investigators say analysis of the scene resulted in McFarland, who resides at the residence on Burke Place, being developed as a suspect in the death.

“The Police Division obtained an arrest warrant and enlisted the aid of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force; McFarland, a truck missing from the residence and what is believed to be the weapon used in the homicide, was located in the 10,000 block of Highway 50 near Dadeville and taken into custody,” said Dorsey.

Ross Jonathan McFarland has been charged with Murder, transported to the Lee County jail and is held under a $150,000 bond.

AL Man Kyle Jones ID’d As Victim In Saturday Night Fatal Auburn Motorcycle Crash

AUBURN, AL. (THECOUNT) — Kyle Jones, of Opelika, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 85 near Auburn Saturday night.

Jones, 39, was operating a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on I-85 when he came into contact with a 2012 Honda Accord Saturday after 11:30 p.m.

Jones was thrown from the bike during the collision suffering mortal blunt force trauma injuries.

The identity of the Honda Accord driver and that driver’s condition were not available on Sunday, reports OANow.

No further information was provided by officials.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

ME Man Jean Fournier ID’d As Victim Shot Dead In Auburn Walmart Parking Lot Saturday Night

AUBURN, ME. (THECOUNT) — Jean Fournier, of Lewiston, Maine, has been identified as the victim killed in a shooting at an Auburn Walmart Saturday night.

Fournier, 41, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Auburn Walmart around 8 p.m. Saturday.

State police say, Fournier was transported to Central Maine Medical Center where he later passed away from gunshot injuries.

The shooter was taken into custody Saturday night.

No charges have been filed.

The shooter’s car has been taken to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, reports WMTW.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office.

Auburn U Professor William Carter Arrested In VA ‘Collection Of Child Pornography’

AUBURN, AL. (THECOUNT) — William Matthew Carter, or Auburn, Alabama, has been identified as the suspect arrested in Virginia after an investigation by Auburn Police revealed he was in possession of a collection of child pornography.

On Friday, Auburn PD was contacted by investigators with the Blacksburg, Virginia PD in reference to the 52-year-old Auburn University english teacher who was later arrested.

Police say several of the images were confirmed to be those of children not from the Auburn area.

“William Carter” is a professor and a lecturer in the English Department at Auburn.

Officials with Auburn University released a statement saying,

“William Matthew Carter’s employment with Auburn University ended on May 10. Any further questions should be directed to either the Auburn Police Department or the Blacksburg, Virginia, Police Department.”

Evidence seized in that case prompted Auburn Police to initiate an investigation and execute a search of Carter’s residence in Auburn. This resulted in the discovery of various electronic devices containing images of child pornography, reports WTVM.

Auburn Detectives obtained five additional felony warrants charging Carter with Possession of Child Pornography for the evidence recovered.

Carter will be eligible for a $50,000 bond once in custody in Lee County.

The investigation is ongoing and Police say more charges are possible as they work to have Carter extradited back to Alabama.

WA Man ID’d As Body Found In Trunk Of Auburn Vehicle ‘Wrapped In Carpet’ Wednesday

AUBURN, WA. (THECOUNT) — Hector Antonio Galeano has been identified as the victim found dead, wrapped in carpet, in the truck of an Auburn, WA, vehicle Friday.

Police say, Galeano, 27, was found wrapped in carpet in the trunk of a car in Auburn. He had been reported missing on Wednesday and was last seen departing a friend’s house at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 3.

Galeano’s vehicle was captured on video driving into the parking lot of the Auburn Community Event Center, in Lakeland Hills, Auburn, WA, around midnight, Police say.

The vehicle remained at the location until police were alerted of an abandoned vehicle Thursday. They then located Galeano’s body.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

A cause of death is yet to be determined.

Police believe the car, with Galeano’s body in it, was driven to the lot by an unknown person, who parked it and left. Continue reading

ME Man Accused Of College Threats Converted Violin Case To Fit High-Powered Gun Out Of Custody After Posting $1K Bond

BATH, ME. (THECOUNT) — Darren Lilly has been identified as the Bowdoinham, Maine man charged with terrorizing after allegedly making threats against Central Maine Community College in Auburn, according to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff Department.

Lilly, 23, was arrested Monday at 5:30 p.m. at his Feldspar Lane home and charged with terrorizing, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years incarceration and a $5,000 fine, according to a press release.

Lilly was later released after posting a $1,000 conditional bond with “strict” restrictions from him possessing firearms as well as barring him from Auburn. Dog Breeder Kimmerly Gray And Husband MURDERED In Auburn Home

Auburn police have identified the two people found dead inside a home Saturday as Schnauzer breeder, Kimmerly Gray, and her husband Daniel. Police are now investigating the case as a homicide.

According to Auburn police, they were responding to a welfare check at a home in the 700 block of Hunters Court, off Richland Road.

Markale Hart, a 22-year-old from Camp Hill has been arrested in the shooting death of Jakell Mitchell, an Auburn University redshirt freshman football player.

Mitchell was shot and killed shortly after midnight on Sunday at an apartment complex.
