Antonio Demetrice Rhynes Arrested In Murder Of Spike Lee Actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd

ATLANTA, GA. (THECOUNT) — Antonio Demetrice Rhynes has been identified as the suspect arrested Friday in the Atlanta, Georgia murder of Thomas Jefferson Byrd, an actor who appeared in multiple Spike Lee films.

Rhynes was arrested early Friday morning along North Camp Creek Parkway in Atlanta.

Lee took to Instagram last Sunday to announce the sad news of Byrd’s passing.

Lee did not reveal any details surrounding Byrd’s alleged murder. The director paid tribute to the actor, writing that he hopes “we all wish condolences and blessings to his family.”

Rhynes is being booked into the Fulton County Jail. He is facing felony murder charges.
