WINSTON-SALEM, NC. (THECOUNT) — Baxter Allen Lindsay Jr., 37, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, has died following a high-speed motorcycle crash Thursday night at an intersection in Winston-Salem, police said.
The fatal collision occurred around 8:01 p.m. Thursday at Peters Creek Parkway and Ethel Drive, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Investigators said Lindsay was riding a 2025 Suzuki motorcycle north on Peters Creek Parkway at a high rate of speed when another vehicle traveling south on the parkway attempted to turn left onto Ethel Drive.
The motorcycle struck the second vehicle, causing that vehicle to overturn.
Lindsay was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries but refused further medical assistance, authorities said.
Police identified speed as the significant contributing factor in the deadly collision. No additional information concerning the second driver was immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation by the WSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit. Officials have not announced any citations, charges or other enforcement action in connection with the collision.
Authorities also have not released information concerning the condition of the motorcycle following the crash or whether any additional witnesses were involved.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the motorcycle’s speed, the left-turn maneuver and the sequence of events that caused the second vehicle to overturn.
Winston-Salem is located in Forsyth County in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The city is approximately 30 miles west of Greensboro and serves as one of the region’s major population centers.
