CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Effie Carder, of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Friday night in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Carder, 26, was killed in a vehicle strike involving a semi-tractor Friday night in Oxford Township, Ohio. The collision also injured 30-year-old Gilbert Jordan, of Corry, Pennsylvania, and three young children near Olmsted Falls.

According to reports, Jordan was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Ohio Turnpike in Olmsted Falls, when the vehicle came into contact with a guardrail around 7:30 p.m. Friday. At some point, Jordan, Carder, a 4-year-old female, a 3-year-old male, and a 2-year-old female, all exited the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, a Freightliner semi-trailer operated by Akeeva Stinson, age 27, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, collided with the Jeep and all five pedestrians.

Carder was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene. Joprdan and the three children were transported to area hospitals with serious unknown injuries.

Stinson was not injured in the collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
