SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Asante Sebastian Contreras, originally of Del Rio, Texas, has been identified as the innocent victim in a fatal police pursuit crash in San Antonio on Sunday night.

Contreras, 20, was killed after his vehicle was struck head-on by a suspect fleeing police in San Antonio on Sunday night.

According to reports, police were pursuing a vehicle that was traveling the wrong-way on Interstate 35 near Loop 410, when the suspect collided head-on with Contreras around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Contreras, who resided in San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.

The suspect, who has not been identified by officials, was arrested and charged with murder.

Police did not reveal led to the deadly pursuit.

The crash remains under investigation.
