HARRIS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Tiffany Henderson, the mother of Tavores Henderson, the man accused of killing a Nassau Bay police sergeant, Kaila Sullivan, is also being charged after she allegedly lied to detectives.
Tiffany Henderson appeared in court Friday morning with three officers by her side. She is charged with hindering an investigation, a third degree felony.

“She and the boyfriend took him from a location close to the scene to a hotel where he spent the night,” Sean Teare, Harris County District Attorney’s Office Chief of Vehicular Crimes, said. “She then went to her home and came into contact with sheriff’s deputies immediately when she arrived at her house. She initially told them she didn’t even know who Mr. Henderson was.”
Prosecutors say Tiffany endangered the public by not sharing her son’s whereabouts. Her bond is set at $50,000.
Tiffany said she didn’t know her son’s whereabouts. Authorities initially believed he may have hid at her house and conducted a search of the location on Wednesday.
Detectives uncovered surveillance video from a hotel that shows Tiffany and her boyfriend dropping off Tavores at the hotel, reports ABC13.
Tavores Henderson, 21, was arrested without incident Thursday after he was accused of murdering Nassau Bay police Sgt. Kaila Sullivan, 43.
A search had been underway for Henderson who is accused of fatally striking a Texas police sergeant as she attempted to take him into custody Tuesday night.
Officials announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture, police said.
According to police, 21-year-old Henderson, “fought” with the officers during his arrest and was able to break free and enter a vehicle, say Nassau Bay Police.
Kaila Sullivan has been identified as the Nassau Bay Police Department police sergeant killed after being struck by a suspect’s vehicle Tuesday night.
Sullivan, 43, was killed after she was hit by a suspect’s car on Tuesday night.
Sullivan was with a group of officers attempting to conduct an arrest on a family violence suspect when he wrestled away from officers, got into a vehicle and drove off.
The suspect then struck Sullivan with the vehicle as he fled, according to News4.
Sullivan was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Sullivan was the night shift sergeant at the department and would have celebrated her 16th anniversary with the agency later this month.
