HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL. (THECOUNT) — Hoffman Estates police Officer David Domin, has been identified as the victim in a Monday afternoon motorcycle crash in South Barrington, Illinois.

Domin, 49, was killed Monday afternoon in an off-duty crash while operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling on Sutton Rd near Arboretum Drive after 2:30 p.m.

Daniel Vizcaya, 33, was operating a work van when he came into contact with Domin’s motorcycle.

Domin was thrown from the bike during the collision.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Vizcaya of Aurora, was uninjured in the crash. He was the sole occupant of the van.

It is unclear what led up to the crash and if anyone was cited at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Domin was a 23-year-veteran of the department, reports DailyHerald.
