CHICAGO, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jamie Poulos of Berwyn, Illinois, has been identified as the victim killed in a fiery fatal crash on Interstate 55 involving an Uber vehicle.
Poulos was killed while out celebrating her 23rd birthday with friends. Rami Matariyeh, 23, of Homer Glen, is due in court Tuesday on reckless homicide charges in the I-55 vehicle death of Poulos.

The Chicago Tribune reports authorities say Matariyeh fled in a ride-hailing car after causing the crash. Police say he was drunk when he fled Sunday after his sedan crashed into Poulos’ Uber ride. Illinois State Police ran the license plates on Matariyeh’s vehicle and Will County sheriff’s police were at his home when he arrived, asleep in his Uber ride, reports WGNTV.
Matariyeh was treated for his injuries and taken into police custody.
According to social media, Poulos was a popular shift manager at Starbucks. She attended Morton College and Morton West High School.
