The crash forced the closure of the Parks Highway in both directions near milepost 115. Traffic was diverted through the Three Bears parking lot while responders worked at the scene and the damaged vehicles were cleared.

The highway remained closed for several hours before troopers reported that it had fully reopened around 3 p.m. Monday.

Trapper Creek is a small community along the George Parks Highway, the principal road connecting the Anchorage area with Denali and Alaska’s Interior. The highway is a major travel route for residents and visitors moving between Southcentral Alaska and communities farther north.
