MARTINSVILLE, IN. (THECOUNT) — Shirley Rightmyer, 69, of Whitestown, Indiana, has been identified as the woman killed Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on McClure Road in Morgan County. Her husband, Louis Rightmyer, 72, of Indianapolis, was operating the Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it ran off the north side of the roadway, ejecting both occupants.
Morgan County deputies were dispatched just after 5 p.m. to the serious crash at McClure Road and State Road 42, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Louis Rightmyer was traveling westbound on McClure Road when the motorcycle left the roadway. Both Louis and Shirley were ejected from the motorcycle during the crash.
Shirley was pronounced deceased at the scene. Louis was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Louis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, while Shirley was not wearing one, according to investigators.
The Morgan County Serious Crash Investigation Team is handling the investigation. As required under Indiana law, Louis submitted to a blood draw following the crash.
Investigators said the completed case will be reviewed by the Morgan County Prosecutor’s Office. The circumstances surrounding the motorcycle leaving the roadway remain under investigation.
Authorities have not announced any charges in connection with the crash.

McClure Road and State Road 42 are located in Morgan County in west-central Indiana, in the Martinsville area southwest of Indianapolis. The crash occurred on McClure Road just east of its intersection with State Road 42.
