OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Justin Barker, 31, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, has been identified as the man who died Wednesday afternoon after his SUV crashed on the Ohio Turnpike in Olmsted Township, Cuyahoga County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, on the Ohio Turnpike, where the Milan post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.

According to the preliminary investigation, Barker was traveling eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike in a 2009 Cadillac Escalade when the SUV drove off the right side of the roadway.
The Escalade struck a guard rail and then collided with a bridge column, authorities said.
After the initial impact, the Cadillac rotated back onto the roadway and struck a 2019 Toyota Corolla operated by Courtney Telep, 37, of Berea, Ohio.
Barker was pronounced dead at the scene. Telep was not injured in the crash.
The right lane of the Ohio Turnpike was closed for approximately three hours while the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the collision.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Olmsted Township Fire Department, Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission and Rich’s Towing, according to New London Newsroom.
The circumstances surrounding why Barker’s vehicle left the roadway remain under investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not announced any additional contributing factors.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as authorities continue reviewing the crash.
Olmsted Township is located in southwestern Cuyahoga County, southwest of Cleveland and near the communities of North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Berea. The Ohio Turnpike passes through the township and provides a major east-west transportation route across northern Ohio.
