HANCOCK COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Sean Woosley and Joshua Wood have been identified as the two people killed in an overnight single-vehicle crash in western Kentucky, according to Kentucky State Police.
Woosley, 23, of Hawesville, and Wood, 25, of Lewisport, were pronounced dead at the scene after a red 1998 Ford Mustang crashed near the intersection of KY-271 and Hilldale Road in Hancock County.

The fatal collision occurred late Saturday night, according to Kentucky State Police. Troopers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a single-vehicle crash in Lewisport.
When troopers arrived, they found the Mustang off the roadway and crashed into an embankment.
The Hancock County Coroner responded to the crash scene and pronounced both Woosley and Wood deceased.
Authorities have not released additional information about who was driving the Mustang or provided a detailed account of what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
The crash occurred in the Lewisport and Hawesville area of Hancock County, a western Kentucky county located along the Ohio River. KY-271 runs through the Lewisport area and intersects with Hilldale Road. Kentucky transportation records identify the KY-271 stretch between KY-1389 and Hilldale Road within Hancock County.

The circumstances surrounding the deadly collision remain under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
Investigators have not announced whether speed, impairment, roadway conditions or another factor contributed to the crash. No additional injuries were reported in the information released by authorities.
The identities of Woosley and Wood were released after their families were notified, according to authorities.
