MORGAN COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jeffrey Conn, a 43-year-old Sangamon County man, has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Morgan County, Illinois.
Jeff Conn, of Springfield, was riding westbound on Old State Road when his motorcycle left the roadway just east of Wallbaum Lane in Jacksonville, according to Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson.

Patterson said Conn veered into a ditch during the crash. He was pronounced deceased following the collision.
The fatal crash occurred in Morgan County, located in west-central Illinois near the Illinois River and approximately 35 miles west of Springfield, the state capital. Conn was a resident of Springfield in neighboring Sangamon County.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway. It was not immediately clear whether any other vehicles were involved.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal motorcycle accident.
The investigation was assisted at the scene by the office of Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson and the Alexander Fire Department.
Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances of the crash pending the investigation.
