AZ Teen Jordan Cux Blas ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Phoenix Rollover Crash

PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT)Jordan Cux Blas, 17, died Wednesday night after a rollover crash involving a Toyota Tundra on Cave Creek Road in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Authorities said Blas was driving the truck when it lost control and crashed, while a second 17-year-old driver who was reportedly traveling nearby remained at the scene.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. July 29 on Cave Creek Road just south of Hatcher Road in north Phoenix, an area located in Maricopa County in central Arizona. Phoenix police said officers responded to the scene and found a white Toyota Tundra that had overturned.

Investigators said Blas was traveling southbound on Cave Creek Road when he lost control of the vehicle. Police said the truck struck a curb, causing it to roll over before continuing into a fence.

Officers arriving at the scene found Blas inside the crashed vehicle. Police said he was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

According to Sgt. Chris Berrelleza of the Phoenix Police Department, detectives learned that another vehicle had been driving aggressively alongside the Toyota Tundra before the crash occurred.

The driver of the second vehicle was also identified as a 17-year-old. Police said that driver stayed at the scene following the crash and showed no signs of impairment.

Authorities have not released additional details about the second vehicle or the specific actions that led investigators to describe the driving as aggressive. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by Phoenix police collision reconstruction detectives.

Police said the completed investigation will determine whether any charges are applicable. No information regarding possible citations or charges had been released.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing evidence from the scene, including vehicle positions, roadway conditions and witness information.
