MARLBOROUGH, CT. (THECOUNT) — John Forbes, 39, of West Hartford, Connecticut, was killed Monday evening following a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck at the intersection of Route 66 and Saner Road in Marlborough, Connecticut, according to Connecticut State Police.
Marlborough is located in Hartford County in central Connecticut, southeast of Hartford and within the Hartford metropolitan area. The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 66 and Saner Road, a well-traveled corridor connecting several communities in the region.

State Troopers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:55 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
According to the Connecticut State Police accident information summary, Forbes was operating his motorcycle eastbound on Route 66 behind a Chevrolet Silverado when the crash occurred.
Investigators said the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado began making a left turn at the intersection as Forbes attempted to pass the vehicle on the left side. The motorcycle subsequently collided with the front left portion of the pickup truck.
The impact caused Forbes to lose control of the motorcycle and become separated from the vehicle before striking the ground, authorities said.
Forbes suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Connecticut State Police have not released additional information regarding the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado or whether any charges or citations are anticipated as part of the ongoing investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation by Connecticut State Police.
