SEDGWICK COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Guerrero Moreno Jr., 46, of Wichita, Kansas, was killed Monday night after a motorcycle crash involving a Toyota RAV4 on Meridian near 109th Street north of Valley Center Township, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. Moreno was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the collision occurred.
Sedgwick County is located in south-central Kansas and is home to Wichita, the state’s largest city. The fatal crash occurred north of Valley Center along Meridian Avenue, a rural roadway in the Wichita metropolitan area.

Deputies responded to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. Monday. According to Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Branden Stitt, Moreno was traveling southbound on Meridian when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the motorcycle entered the northbound lanes of traffic and came to rest in the roadway.
Authorities said a northbound Toyota RAV4, driven by a 68-year-old Sedgwick woman, subsequently struck Moreno and the motorcycle.
Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
Emergency medical personnel transported the driver of the Toyota RAV4 to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Authorities have not released her identity.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances that caused the motorcycle to enter the northbound lanes before the fatal collision.
No additional information regarding possible contributing factors has been released by investigators.
