LASALLE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Kent Sanson, 16, of Deville, Louisiana, was killed Friday morning in a rollover crash on Hunt Road in LaSalle Parish, according to Louisiana State Police. The driver, Reese McKenzie, 18, also of Deville, was arrested following the crash and now faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide.
LaSalle Parish is located in central Louisiana northeast of Alexandria. The fatal crash occurred on Hunt Road near the Dewey Willis Wildlife Management Area in Jonesville.

Louisiana State Police troopers responded to the scene at approximately 5 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of a serious single-vehicle crash.
According to the preliminary investigation, McKenzie was operating a vehicle northbound on Hunt Road when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control.
Troopers said the vehicle exited the roadway and overturned, ejecting multiple occupants.
Sanson sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that McKenzie suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Five additional passengers also sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical care.
Investigators said none of the seven occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
As part of the investigation, Louisiana State Police obtained toxicology samples for analysis. Troopers said impairment is suspected as a contributing factor in the collision.
Following the investigation, McKenzie was charged with vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular negligent injuring, operating a vehicle while impaired, careless operation of a vehicle, and open container violations.
Authorities said McKenzie was arrested and processed at the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash and are awaiting the results of toxicology testing.
