OHATCHEE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Cia Carmeshia Williams, 32, of Anniston, Alabama, was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash involving a passenger car and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer in Ohatchee, according to authorities. The tractor-trailer driver suffered injuries in the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Ohatchee is located in Calhoun County in northeastern Alabama, approximately 20 miles east of Birmingham. The fatal crash occurred on Alabama Highway 77 at Margie Lane.

Ohatchee Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 5:25 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a collision involving a 2017 Kia Forte and a tractor-trailer.
According to police, the crash involved Williams’ Kia Forte and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer on Alabama Highway 77. Officials have not released details regarding the circumstances that led to the head-on collision.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown identified Williams as the driver of the Kia. She was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities did not immediately release the driver’s identity or provide an update on the extent of the injuries.
Investigators have not announced whether any charges or citations are anticipated. Officials also have not disclosed whether weather, speed, impairment, or any other contributing factors played a role in the collision.
The Ohatchee Police Department extended its condolences to Williams’ family, friends, and all those affected by the fatal crash.
The collision remains under investigation by the Ohatchee Police Department.
