OH Man Scott Wilkes ID’d As Driver In Friday Bronson Township Fatal Crash

HURON COUNTY, Ohio (THECOUNT) — Scott Wilkes, of West Salem, Ohio, was identified as the man killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Bronson Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Wilkes failed to yield at a stop sign. A 45-year-old Norwalk man was driving the other vehicle involved in the collision.

Wilkes was 54 years old.

Wilkes was traveling east on Dublin Road just before 4:30 p.m. Friday. After failing to yield at the posted stop sign at New State Road, his vehicle was struck by the southbound vehicle driven by the 45-year-old Norwalk man. Both vehicles left the roadway following the impact.

Wilkes was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other driver suffered minor injuries. Investigators said neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. No additional details have been released at this time.

A GoFundMe was posted to help family members pay for expenses.

On July 10, 2026, my dad, Scott, passed away in a car accident between 4 and 5 pm, just one day before his birthday. The cause of the accident is still unknown, and the suddenness of his loss has left our family heartbroken. As his only daughter, I am struggling to process this tragedy alongside his three grandchildren, who adored him deeply. Scott was a man who lived life to the fullest, surrounded by friends and family who cherished his presence. He loved being outdoors, working on cars, drag racing, and listening to rock n roll. His passion for animals was unmatched, and his heart was filled with a love that was deeper than most can fathom. Scott felt everything so deeply, and those who knew him could see the warmth and kindness he carried every day.

Now, Scott is reunited in heaven with his mother, Kathryn Wilkes, whom he missed dearly since her passing. Our family is facing the unexpected challenge of covering funeral expenses during this devastating time. The funds raised will help me, his only daughter, and his three grandchildren honor his memory and give him the farewell he deserves.

I am incredibly grateful for everyone’s sincerity and donations. Your support means more than words can express, and any contribution will help ease the burden on our family. Thank you for helping us celebrate Scott’s life and legacy.
