ELBERT COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Teresa Ann Haggstrom, of Elberton, Georgia, died Monday afternoon following a lawn mower accident at a residence in Elbert County, located in northeastern Georgia near the South Carolina state line.
Haggstrom was 67.
According to the Elbert County Coroner’s Office, the fatal incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Monday at a home in the 2900 block of Green Acres Road.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the residence after reports of a lawn mower accident involving Haggstrom.
Authorities said Haggstrom suffered fatal injuries in the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not released additional details regarding how the lawn mower accident occurred.
Elberton, known as the “Granite Capital of the World,” is located in northeastern Georgia approximately 40 miles east of Athens and near the Georgia-South Carolina border.
The Elbert County Coroner’s Office and the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the fatal incident.
