ANDERSON COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Carol Jean Olson, 61, of Faribault, Minnesota, has been identified as the victim of a fatal weekend crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle in Anderson County, Kentucky.
According to Kentucky State Police, the crash occurred Sunday at approximately 3:50 p.m. along Kentucky Route 53 in Anderson County.
Troopers said Olson was operating a three-wheeled motorcycle when the vehicle crashed. She was the only person on the motorcycle at the time of the incident.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Olson lost control of the vehicle while traveling around a sharp turn. Authorities said she was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the base of a road sign during the crash sequence.
Olson was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash occurred in Anderson County, located in central Kentucky between the cities of Lexington and Louisville. The county is part of a region characterized by a mix of rural highways, rolling terrain, and small communities connected by state-maintained roadways.
