NEW CASTLE, PA. (THECOUNT) — Jaycob Heasley, 25, was identified as the victim killed Tuesday evening in a crash involving an e-bike and a marked Butler County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle in New Castle, Pennsylvania, according to authorities.
The fatal collision occurred around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Walnut Street and County Line Street.

According to the New Castle Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash involving an electric bicycle and a marked Butler County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
Investigators arriving at the scene found Heasley, the operator of the e-bike, unresponsive following the collision.
Emergency responders transported Heasley to UPMC Jameson, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
No information regarding injuries to the occupants of the patrol vehicle was immediately released.
The Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialists Unit responded to assist with the investigation in coordination with New Castle police.
Investigators remained at the intersection Tuesday evening documenting evidence and reconstructing the collision scene.
New Castle is located in Lawrence County in western Pennsylvania, approximately 50 miles northwest of Pittsburgh near the Ohio state line.
The crash remains under active investigation.
