CATONSVILLE, MD. (THECOUNT) — Kaylie Logston, of Catonsville, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting Thursday afternoon inside a residence in Baltimore County, according to authorities. Logston was 21.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the unit block of Hillside Road in Catonsville, a community southwest of Baltimore.

According to Baltimore County Police spokesman Anthony Shelton, responding officers arrived at the residence after reports of a shooting and discovered Logston deceased inside the home.

During the course of the investigation, Baltimore County detectives learned that a man believed to have been in a relationship with Logston was being treated at a hospital after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to Howard County Police, authorities responded separately to the 10000 block of Wincopin Circle in Columbia regarding reports involving an armed individual.

Investigators in Howard County said they believe the incident there involved an attempted suicide.

Police reported the male subject allegedly fired multiple shots into the air before shooting himself.

Authorities have not publicly identified the male subject.

Officials also have not publicly disclosed the nature of the relationship between the man and Logston beyond stating the pair were reportedly involved in a relationship.

Investigators have not announced a possible motive.

Law enforcement officials said detectives are not currently searching for any additional suspects in connection with the fatal shooting.

The Baltimore County Police Department continues coordinating investigative efforts related to both incidents.

Crime scene investigators remained active Thursday gathering evidence and conducting interviews connected to the shooting death.

Authorities have not publicly released details regarding the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting inside the Hillside Road residence.

No additional injuries connected to the Catonsville scene were reported by authorities.

Police have not indicated whether any weapons were recovered from the residence.
