PARIS, ME. (THECOUNT) — Zackery May, of Paris, Maine, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon in Oxford County, according to the Paris Police Department. May was 21.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Elm Hill Road in Paris, a town located in western Maine. Authorities said May was operating a motorcycle traveling southbound at the time of the incident.

According to Police Chief Michael Ward, the motorcycle lost control while traveling along the roadway and crossed into the path of a northbound pickup truck.
The motorcycle subsequently collided with the pickup truck, resulting in fatal injuries to May. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials.
The driver of the pickup truck was not reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
No additional details regarding the driver have been released.
Investigators indicated that speed and driver inexperience appear to be contributing factors in the crash. Officials have not released further details regarding the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
Elm Hill Road is a local roadway in Paris that connects residential and rural areas within Oxford County. The road is commonly traveled by local traffic and includes stretches where curves and varying road conditions can present challenges for motorists.
