Texas Man Killed In Thursday Night Missouri Hit-And-Run Crash

PLATTE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — A 38-year-old man from Houston, Texas, was killed Thursday night in a hit-and-run crash on southbound Highway 69 at Interstate 635 in Platte County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:28 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

According to MSHP, an unknown vehicle struck the man, who was in the roadway on southbound Highway 69 at the Interstate 635 interchange. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m. by emergency medical personnel at the scene.

The driver and vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run remain unidentified. No information was available regarding the use of safety equipment. The investigation is ongoing.

Platte County is located in the northwestern corner of the Kansas City metropolitan area, directly north of Kansas City proper and west of the Missouri River. The crash occurred at the Highway 69 and Interstate 635 interchange in the city of Riverside, a major commuter corridor serving the northern Kansas City suburbs.
