Armed Suspect Shot By Federal Agents In Minneapolis Saturday [Graphic Video]

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (THECOUNT) — An adult male was shot by a federal law enforcement agent Saturday morning in south Minneapolis, with authorities indicating the suspect was armed at the time of the encounter.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz confirmed the shooting and said he spoke with the White House earlier in the day. Walz sharply criticized the incident, stating, “Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.” The White House has not publicly commented on the shooting.

The City of Minneapolis confirmed it was “aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement” near the intersection of 26th Street West and Nicollet Avenue. City officials said additional information would be released once confirmed.

According to reporting from Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, the individual who was shot was “down” and receiving medical treatment at the scene. Melugin cited multiple law enforcement sources who stated the suspect was in possession of a firearm. The Department of Homeland Security reportedly confirmed the presence of a gun.

The following video claims to depict the actual shooting, however, this has not been verified by officials.

Details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting remain limited. Authorities have not released the identity of the suspect, nor have they confirmed the individual’s condition. It is also unclear which specific federal agency was involved, though DHS personnel were referenced in initial reports.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey once again called for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to leave the city and the state entirely. Frey announced plans to hold a press conference later Saturday morning to address the incident and ongoing federal law enforcement activity in Minneapolis.

TMZ reported it had reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for comment but had not received a response as of Saturday morning.

The shooting comes amid heightened tensions in Minneapolis related to federal law enforcement operations and follows recent incidents that have drawn public scrutiny and protests.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released by state or federal officials as the review progresses.
