MARSHALL COUNTY, OKLA. (THECOUNT.COM) — Michael Stiverson, 60, of Gordonville, Texas, and Nickii Cryer, 69, of Kingston, Oklahoma, were killed Monday evening following a head-on collision on US Highway 377 in Marshall County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Coleman Road near Madill. Authorities reported that Stiverson was driving northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the car driven by Cryer, who was traveling southbound.
Emergency responders arrived on scene and determined both drivers had suffered fatal injuries. Both Stiverson and Cryer were pronounced dead at the scene.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigators said the cause of the collision is under review. Officials have not indicated whether speed, impairment, mechanical failure, or other factors contributed to the crash.
The northbound and southbound lanes of US 377 near the intersection of Coleman Road were temporarily closed while responders and investigators worked the scene. Traffic was rerouted until the area was cleared.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has information regarding the incident to contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The investigation remains ongoing.
