HUNTSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Kevin Corbin, 27, was killed Friday night in a multi-vehicle crash in Huntsville, Alabama, according to the Madison County Coroner’s Office.
The fatal collision occurred around 8:44 p.m. in the area of Meridian Street and North Memorial Parkway, a major roadway intersection on the city’s north side.
Don Webster, a spokesperson for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services Inc. (HEMSI), said emergency crews responded to reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles.
Webster confirmed that Corbin was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
A second person was injured in the collision and was transported by emergency responders to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services for treatment. Officials have not released information about the individual’s condition.
Authorities have not disclosed how many vehicles were involved or the sequence of events that led up to the crash. The identities of other individuals involved have not been released.
The intersection of Meridian Street and North Memorial Parkway is a heavily traveled corridor that connects residential neighborhoods with commercial and industrial areas of Huntsville. Traffic in the area was affected for a period of time as first responders worked at the scene.
Investigators have not stated whether speed, impairment, or other contributing factors are suspected. No information regarding possible charges has been released.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
