LINCOLN, DE. (THECOUNT) — The Delaware State Police have released the identity of the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run incident early on Christmas Day in Lincoln. The victim has been named as Leo Hernandez Perez, a 29-year-old resident of Milford.
The incident took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 25, when Hernandez Perez was walking along Cubbage Pond Road near its intersection with Johnson Road. He was struck by a northbound Toyota Tundra, whose driver did not remain at the scene.
Subsequently, the vehicle involved was found abandoned on Johnson Road, where it was later discovered by law enforcement.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Senior Corporal J. Smith at (302) 703-3267. Lincoln is an unincorporated community in northern Sussex County, Delaware, United States. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.
