OH Man Marty ‘Keith’ Dotson ID’d As Victim In Sunday West Union Fatal Crash

ADAMS COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Marty Keith Dotson, 49, has been identified as the individual killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Adams County, Ohio. The incident, which also left a passenger seriously injured, occurred just off State Route 136, according to the Georgetown post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities report that the crash happened around 12:19 a.m. when Dotson, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, misjudged an oncoming curve. The vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, down an embankment, and ultimately collided with a tree.

Emergency responders arriving at the scene pronounced Dotson dead. Reports indicate that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The passenger, identified as 41-year-old Shade Littleton, was rescued from the front seat by first responders and transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities noted that Littleton was wearing a seatbelt, which may have mitigated the severity of his injuries.

The stretch of State Route 136 where the crash occurred remains under investigation, as police work to determine if any additional factors contributed to the incident. Local residents are reminded to exercise caution while driving in the area, particularly during late hours and on challenging curves.

The tragic accident has left the West Union community grieving as authorities continue their investigation.
