The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on the 2800 block of Larkspur Drive, where the Edinburg Police Department’s traffic division responded. According to initial findings, Hernandez, who was on a motorcycle, collided with a metal light pole.

Emergency services transported Hernandez to a local hospital, but despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The initial investigation by the Edinburg Police Department suggests that factors such as alcohol consumption and excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. These details are part of the ongoing investigation.

In response to this accident, the Edinburg PD has issued a reminder about the importance of making safe and responsible choices. They stress the dangers associated with driving under the influence or at high speeds.

The department is advocating for safer alternatives for those who choose to drink, urging individuals to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using ride-sharing services, or finding other safe transportation methods.

This incident has put a spotlight on road safety in Edinburg, with the police continuing their investigation to understand the full context of Hernandez’s fatal accident. As more information becomes available, it could provide further insights into how such tragedies might be prevented in the future.

This accident also comes at a time when Edinburg authorities are dealing with another case where two men were indicted on 19 counts related to an auto theft, highlighting the ongoing efforts to maintain public safety.
