MA High School Dean ‘Lavante Wiggins’ Arrested In Major Cocaine Trafficking Conspiracy

PITTSVILLE, MA. (THECOUNT) — The Dean of Students at Pittsfield High School, Lavante Wiggins, was one of two men arrested Wednesday morning. They were charged with allegedly conspiring to traffic large quantities of cocaine in Western Massachusetts.

Wiggins, aged 30, and Theodore Warren, 42, also known as “Monty,” were each charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Following their initial court appearance in Springfield federal court, both men were released on conditions this afternoon.

According to the charging documents, Wiggins led a drug trafficking organization responsible for distributing significant amounts of cocaine in and around the Pittsfield area.

It is noted that in August 2024, Wiggins expressed concern about an ongoing investigation and subsequently sent Warren to handle drug sales and deliveries.

One of Wiggins’ customers reportedly owed more than $34,000 in cocaine debt provided on credit. Wiggins and Warren are alleged to have worked together to recover this debt while continuing to supply the customer with large quantities of cocaine.

Specifically, Wiggins is accused of orchestrating four instances where Warren distributed cocaine to this customer between September and December 2024.

If convicted, both men face potential penalties including up to 20 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release, and fines up to $1 million.

Pittsfield is the largest city and the county seat of Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the principal city of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Berkshire County. Pittsfield’s population is 43,927 as of 2020.
